Patrick McCowan named 2015 Distinguished Alum
EKU's Department of Applied Engineering and Technology, along with the School of Applied Arts and Technology, is pleased to announce that Mr. Patrick McCowan has been selected as their departmental distinguished alum for 2015.
Mr. McCowan was honored during a presentation on Friday, April 7, 2015, at the Department of Applied Engineering and Technology College to Careers Conference.
The honor is reserved for special alumni who have distinguished themselves in their professions through excellence, dedication, and service.
Mr. McCowan is a 2000 alumnus from the Construction Management and is currently senior project manager for Gray Construction in Lexington, Ky. A leader in providing engineering, design and construction services, Gray works with a variety of customers throughout the U.S.
In his present role, McCowan oversees all facets of project development for major commercial builds from manufacturing plants to high-level security areas. He has completed major projects for companies that include UPS, Goodyear, Toyota, Michelin, Siemens, Kentucky Eagle Beer, Homeland Security, and Special Operations Forces.
McCowan gives generously of his time as a Board Member of the ALS Kentucky Chapter and is the founder of the Albert B. McCowan Memorial Golf Scramble. McCowan is also the President of PMA, a member of the Associated General Contractors of America, and an ambassador for Phi Delta Theta.
Congratulations Mr. McCowan on being selected as the 2015 Distinguished Alum representing the Department of Applied Engineering and Technology.
The department also honored distinguished seniors for the year. Ms. Michelle Damico, a Network Security and Electronics major from Louisville, Ky., was selected as the AET departmental distinguished senior. In addition, recipients of scholarships and awards for the 2014-15 academic year were recognized and honored for outstanding achievement.
