Dyer accepts ASCE award

EKU's Dr. Bryan Dyer has received the Distinguished Engineer in Education award from the Kentucky Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE).

Dyer, an associate professor in the Department of Applied Engineering and Technology, teaches in EKU’s Construction Management Program.

According to Sean Graig, committee chair of the ASCE’s Louisville office, the award may be given annually to “an engineer of recognized standing, who must be an ASCE member in good standing who has demonstrated sustained outstanding civil engineering performance in the education sector, evidence of high character and professional integrity, and civic and humanitarian activities.”

EKU’s Construction Management Program, which is accredited by the American Council for Construction Education, prepares students to pursue such positions as superintendent, project engineer, field engineers, construction coordinator, project scheduler, office engineer, expeditor, estimator and assistant project manager.
